I went on a long drive this morning to scope out somewhere quite far away for future trips. I wasn't expecting to get anything. It was a really nice sunrise but from where I shooting from I just couldn't get the shot I wanted to I mounted my 70-200mm 2.8 to do some tele-landscaping. I quite like this shot.
I liked the little house on its own with the main town behind it in the distance. It was very hazy this morning due to the overnight rain but I think it works well and gives the shot more depth.
This shot is a bit different for me and is the style of shot that I just cannot get in my local area of The New Forest. I'm determined to improve my in-land photographic skills before I start doing any more coastal stuff.
He was a television presenter who did a fair bit of "country ways" style programs. One of them was called "Out of Town", and would feature him in a shed (probably a set), talking about country life (fishing, hunting, making hurdles etc etc). Must have been back in the 70's and 80's that!
Look him up.
I think the "Bob Flemming" character from "The Fast Show" was based his archetype.
