... To the rolling sea,
While the weather's calm and still...

You know the song (and the kids programme from many years ago).

Portland Bill, Portland, Dorset, UK.

Somthing different from me again (ok the shot isn't unique - i've shot this composition quite frequently) but for once its not predawn light and taken during the golden hour as the sun rises from the horizon.

Great work. I've seen a similar work by Joe Cornish but I love this one better!

Yeah I personally feel joe cornish is a bit on the over rated side. I havn't seen a hell of a lot of his work but I've seen a fair bit. Don't get me wrong hes got some fantastic stuff.

Anyways glad you like it :)

Yeah, I can understand you opinion about Joe Cornish. I like his work, but he doesn't have a place in my top10 let's say. Maybe it is just because his website isn't very good. But sometimes in magazines he has some showcases some real wonderful works.

yeah there is an alarming number of pros who have outdated websites etc. I'm a professional web application developer and my site i've done too much too - i've gone the other direction and really need to rip some works from my site etc.

This is a wonderful shot. I like the hues and the lights specially. As some one said before maybe the sky needs a wee bit more light. But I can live with what's already there.

My worry is the uneven set of roofs which distract the horizon :( I know there is not alternative for that but I think it avoid this shot being a super duper one.
