UPDATE: The original export cocked up on this image and I had inadvertantly disabled a layer mask on a layers level adjustment layer. Corrected now.

Back from my cruise to Norway. Very little photography opportunities due to docking 3 hours after sunrise and departing 6 hours before sunset each day. grr.

still I like this shot. Over cast light rendered the colours boring and full so I did a B+W conversion to it. Few level adjustments etc. I was going to correct the wide perspective distorition but I kind of like the dramatic effect it gives here.

Bringing down the mid-tones in the skies would benefit the image. As is it's hard to appreciate the image because of how bright the sky is.

But then the scene wouldn't be as it appeared when i captured it :) They sky is always going to be brighter than the foreground by a good 2-3 stops minimum. As long as theres no severe highlight burn then the sky is fine :)

Thanks for the imput though. Also, please check your monitor calibration as the sky is REALLY not that bright. Your contrast might be out :)

amazing shot. the clouds are so dramatic and really benefit from the shutter speed you chose. love the little bit of mountain that just creeps out of the clouds.
Great varying and detailed textures, which split the image up as well as adding a visual feeling as if you are actually there.

This is a great shot. Love the mono conversion.. the tones are deep and rich and the whole image got a very nostalgic quality to it xx
